Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a full-time Driver to join our Community Services team! The Driver position is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from assigned destinations within Delaware County and surrounding counties. Drivers represent Delaware Opportunities in the community and are expected to provide professional, courteous, and respectful service while ensuring the safety and dignity of all passengers. This role requires independence, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing schedules and client needs. Evening and weekend hours may be required based on program demand.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Transporting clients to and from medical appointments, employment sites, community programs, and other approved destinations both within and outside of Delaware County;
  • Operating agency vehicles safely and in accordance with all New York State traffic laws and agency policies;
  • Maintaining assigned vehicles in a clean, safe, and orderly condition;
  • Communicating regularly with the Dispatcher/Secretary regarding schedules, route changes, and client needs;
  • Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs as directed;
  • Accurately completing and submitting required daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork in a timely manner;
  • Using agency‑issued smartphones, GPS systems, and transportation applications to track routes, schedules, and client trips;
  • Upholding confidentiality and professionalism at all times;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned to support program operations

 Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Valid New York State driver's license;
  • MINIMUM of three (3) years of a clean driving record;
  • Must be willing to obtain a Class E driver's license upon hire at no cost to the employee

Schedule & Pay:

  • Monday-Friday (weekends may be required)
  • 30 hours per week
  • $16.54 - $19.70 per hour, DOE

Employment is contingent upon the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and a biennial physical examination, in accordance with program requirements
