Program Description

The Big Buddy Program is a mentoring program for at-risk youth in Delaware County. The program offers the opportunity for a child to have a one-on-one relationship with a big buddy volunteer.

Little buddies are at-risk children between the ages of 5 and 14. All big buddy volunteers are at least the age of 18 and have passed our screening process. The Big Buddy Program is designed to provide an additional adult in the life of a child. The adult serves as a friend and as a mentor and generally spends 4-8 hours per month with their little buddy. The program also has opportunities each month to come together for a group activity that is fun and may include a community service component. The range of activities are almost endless!

If you are interested in enriching the life of a child as a Big Buddy volunteer, or if you know of someone that would benefit having a positive adult role model in their life, please contact the Big Buddy Program.
