Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a Project Assistant for our Community Services department to join a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families throughout Delaware County and surrounding communities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, enjoys supporting staff, has strong technical, data entry, and communication skills, and is committed to supporting staff and low-income individuals and families in accessing resources and services. Experience in nonprofit, human services, community action, or program administration is preferred.
Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with monthly Community Services Board reports;
- Serving as a liaison to Community Services staff;
- Assisting with review of staff timesheets and expense logs;
- Assisting with program audits, monitoring reviews, and compliance activities;
- Assisting with CSBG reporting and requirements;
- Supporting the administration of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) programming;
- Serving as the agency point person for CAPTAIN;
- Serving as the agency point person for intake processes, including training staff, answering questions, and updating forms and procedures;
- Assisting with agency communications, including newsletters and press releases;
- Serving as Board Chair for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program;
- Assisting with coordination of food, dairy, and other community distributions;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite;
- Ability to learn and support agency databases and technology systems;
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, community partners, and stakeholders;
- Experience preparing reports, maintaining records, and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of administrative, program support, nonprofit, or community services experience, and/or
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or related field;
- Project coordination experience preferred;
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, Monday - Friday
- 35 hours per week
- Pay range: $26.63 - $31.74 per hour depending on experience
