Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time Housing Advocate to assist homeless and at-risk households in securing and maintaining stable housing. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and able to advocate for clients in a non-judgmental manner while working both independently and as part of a team. This position may become hybrid, working at an offset location and at the Hamden location.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years experience in human services
  • Ability to relate well to individuals from low-income households
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Integrity, reliability, and professionalism

Schedule & Pay:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Starting pay: $22.93 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Assist homeless and at-risk households in securing and maintaining stable housing
  • Conduct client intakes and comprehensive assessments
  • Develop individualized housing action plans
  • Coordinate supportive services including employment, childcare, and transportation
  • Conduct regular client contact and maintain accurate monthly documentation
  • Maintain complete and accurate client files
  • Enter program data and billing information
  • Prepare required reports in a timely manner
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
