Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time Family Services Worker for our Head Start program in Davenport, NY. This position serves as a liaison between the Head Start Center and participating families, supporting family engagement, access to services, and self-sufficiency in a non-judgmental and strengths-based manner.

Qualifications:

• SSCBT or Family Development Credential or Associate’s degree in psychology, sociology, or human services
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with low-income families
• Valid New York State driver’s license
• Personal vehicle required

Schedule & Pay:

• Full-time position
• $18.16 per hour
• 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Conduct ongoing recruitment of eligible children and maintain waiting lists
• Recruit and support parent and community volunteers
• Assist families in accessing community resources to improve quality of life
• Maintain accurate and confidential records for Family and Community Engagement and Health components
• Support health, mental health, dental, and nutritional education, activities, and appointments
• Promote family and community engagement through workshops and program participation
• Support parents in their role as primary educators and program policy contributors
• Plan and provide experiences that strengthen the parental role in child development
• Attend and participate in in-service, pre-service, staff meetings, and trainings
• Participate in program self-assessment activities
• Work with families in a non-judgmental, strengths-based manner
• Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities
• Perform related duties as assigned
