Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support classroom operations and early childhood education programming. This position works under the supervision of the Lead Teacher/Center Director to help implement daily classroom activities and maintain a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children.

Location: Davenport, NY

Essential Duties

• Assist with the implementation of classroom activities and lesson plans as directed by the Lead Teacher/Center Director
• Support daily classroom routines and Head Start program requirements
• Assume responsibility for classroom activities in the absence of the Lead Teacher
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
• Assist with classroom documentation and program compliance as required
• Follow all Head Start performance standards, agency policies, and procedures
• Perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or
• Ability to obtain a CDA within two (2) years of hire
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with preschool-aged children
• Valid New York State driver’s license

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly wage: $18.16 - $19.53, depending on experience
• 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
• Summer's off
