Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a full-time Family Services Manager for our Head Start Program. The Family Services Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Family and Community Engagement components meet or exceed performance standards, and applicable state and local licensing codes and governing components. The ideal candidate must be hard-working, reliable, a team player and trustworthy with good interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail. They will have the ability to work well with parents and integrate other agency services with Head Start to meet all of the family’s needs. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead family and community engagement efforts, including planning and annual updates to service plans;
  • Monitor, coach, and evaluate the Family Services Workers;
  • Oversee recruitment, enrollment, and attendance in compliance with ERSEA guidelines;
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential recordkeeping, including PIR data reporting;
  • Support families through case management, including facilitating case conferences and home visits as needed;
  • Connect families to agency and community resources;
  • Develop and implement parent engagement initiatives, including workshops and family activities;
  • Encourage and support active parent participation, including Policy Council involvement;
  • Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, including child abuse reporting and attendance requirements;
  • Support outreach, program improvement efforts, staff training and overall program operations;
  • Perform other similar or associated duties as assigned or directed; 

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, sociology, psychology, or related field;
  • Experience in a social agency and/or casework experience with low-income children or families preferred

Schedule & Pay

  • Monday – Friday
  • 35 hours per week
  • Pay range: $26.63 - $31.74 per hour DOE
