Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time Center Director / Lead Teacher for the Franklin Head Start Center. This position is responsible for planning and conducting an appropriate early childhood classroom program that meets Head Start Performance Standards, best practices in early childhood education, and the developmental needs of individual children and the group as a whole.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching young children
  • Valid NYS driver’s license
  • Personal vehicle required

Schedule & Pay:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Salary: $22.20-26.48 per hour (DOE)

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities
  • Utilize staff, parents, and volunteers effectively within the classroom
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and early childhood best practices
  • Support the individual needs of children while managing group dynamics
  • Maintain required documentation and records
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings
  • Perform related duties as assigned
