The Community Services Assistant Director is to assist in the overall functioning of the Community Services department, specifically providing direct oversight to assigned staff and programs as determined by the Community Services Director.

The Community Services Assistant Director’s responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Community-Services General Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Community Services Director to provide administrative oversight and support to the Community Services Department, including in the absence of the Community Services Director
  • Assist with the review of Community Services staff timesheets and bi-weekly expense logs
  • Assist with monthly community service Board reports
  • Assist in the preparation of program audits and reviews
  • Assist with the completion of CSBG reporting requirements
  • Acts as integral component of the administration for CSBG-related activities and programming
  • Develop an understanding of all Community Services Programs, even those not directly being administered or overseen by this position
  • Develops articles for the agency newsletters as well as press releases related to Community Services programming
  • Provides administrative oversight, support and direct service provision (as needed) to Community Services Programs, specifically those specifically assigned to this position by the Community Services Director and/or Executive Director
  • Participate on boards, councils and other networking committees as required or requested
  • Engage in community-level networking and partnership building opportunities
  • Participate in required trainings and meetings
  • Perform all other duties as required or directed

 

Social Care Network Related Responsibilities:

  • Performs essentially duties, as necessary, of the Social Care Service Screener/Navigator, Agency Advocate and Family Development Specialist
  • Provides direct supervision to Agency Advocate, Homeless Advocate(s), and Social Care Services Navigator(s)
  • Responsible for understanding and providing oversight to emergency service programs related to homelessness and rapid rehousing, emergency food and shelter, and other short-term programs as well as CSBG regulations and the Family Development Program
  • Leverage the UniteUs platform to receive and manage referrals (within five days)
  • Provide status updates of the service delivery in the UniteUs platform, including when it has been initiated and completed
  • Obtain necessary approvals from the SCN Lead Entity for the provision of services, when applicable
  • Update the UniteUs platform whenever services are unable to initiate service delivery
  • Conduct required outreach attempts, in two modalities
  • Responsible for oversight of the development of Social Care Plans as well as the updates to such plans via UniteUs
  • Attend required internal and external meetings
  • Report all instances where there is a reasonable cause to suspect that a child is abused or neglected
  • Complete all required reporting and data collection activities as assigned
  • Comply with Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies of both Delaware Opportunities as well as Care Compass Collaborative’s Social Care Network
  • Participates in required trainings
  • Perform all other duties as required or directed

Special Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License

Experience

  • Three years’ experience in community services and/or related programming

Education/Licensure/Certifications

  • Associate’s Degree in human services, human development, psychology or related area

$69178.72-82497 annually
