Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time/35 hour/week Agency Advocate based out of our Hamden location. The ideal candidate must be hard working, reliable, and trustworthy. Responsibilities include: knowledge of public benefit programs and community services available to Delaware County residents;
Maintain resource file on community services; maintain current listing of rental housing; develop working knowledge of EFSP program and expenditures of program; assist with ProjectShare and Salvation Army funding;
Provide short term assistance to clients with emergency needs, including homeless individuals and families. Follow-up to assure that needs are met;
Provide general information, referral and advocacy to low income clients seeking assistance;
Maintain client records and prepare reports as required or directed; Meet regularly with community services staff and other Delaware Opportunities staff when appropriate to share information and collaborate on client case management;
Act as resource for other Delaware Opportunities staff seeking information and assistance to better serve their clients;
Develop and maintain record-keeping procedures to document all activities to meet reporting requirements of funding source, to track progress of client or family and to meet reporting requirements of Delaware Opportunities;
Prepare and submit reports to funding source, Community Services Director, Executive Director and Board of Directors as required or directed;
Perform other similar or associated duties as required or directed.
