Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a full-time, non-exempt HR Generalist to support the administrative and HR functions of the agency. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and leadership, with a primary focus on workplace investigations, corrective action, and employee relations. This role ensures consistent, fair, and legally compliant handling of employee concerns while supporting a positive and respectful workplace environment. The ideal candidate brings strong judgement, discretion, and communication skills, along with hands-on experience managing sensitive employee relations matters. 

 Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse groups;
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities;
  • Knowledge of employee benefits, leave laws and general HR functions;
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks;
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS or employee management systems

 Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in human resources or related administrative support role, specifically with experience with employee relations and investigations;
  • Experience in a non-profit or human services setting preferred but not required;
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus but not required

Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time position, non-exempt
  • 35 hours per week
  • Pay range: $28.75 - $34.40 per hour
