Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a reliable and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Support Worker serving foster parents and youth in Delaware County. This position works directly with both caregivers and youth, providing ongoing support, guidance, and connection to services to help placements remain stable and successful. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable and able to build strong relationships with both adults and youth. The right person understands that this work can be challenging at times and shows up with patience, empathy and consistency.
Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Support youth in the Family Residence program by implementing individualized case plans and treatment goals;
- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and skill-building in communication, conflict resolution, and independent living;
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs and progress notes;
- Transport youth to appointments and support participation in community-based activities;
- Collaborate with Family Residence staff and service providers to support youth progress and attend required meetings and trainings;
- Ensure compliance with foster care regulations and maintain required certifications while working a flexible schedule to meet program needs;
- Perform all other duties as required or directed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, education or a related field, and/or
- Four years of experience working with children or adolescents;
- Experience working with at-risk children or adolescents is preferred
Schedule & Pay
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Pay range: $23.39 - $27.90 per hour DOE
