The Delaware Opportunities Board of Directors consists of 15 members. One third of the board is elected public officials or their representatives of Delaware County and the political subdivisions included. The Board of Directors shall designate the elected public officials and public agencies to be represented. To the extent that they are willing and available to serve, one member of the Board of Directors will be an early childhood development practitioner and one member will be an accredited attorney. The remaining 3 members of the private sector will be representatives of business, industry, labor, welfare, education, religion or other major groups and interests in Delaware County. The remaining 5 members will be democratically elected from representatives of residents of Delaware County. One of these members will be elected by Head Start Policy Council. Efforts are made to obtain geographical diversity of representatives within the county. The Board of Directors meets the third Tuesday of each month (excepting July, August, and another month determined by the Board) at 6:30 pm at the main offices of the agency.
