Big Buddy is a mentoring program for at risk youth of Delaware and Otsego Counties. The program offers the opportunity for a child to have a one-on-one relationship with a big buddy volunteer. Little buddies are children between the ages of 5 and 14.
The Big Buddy Program is designed to provide an additional adult in the life of a child. The adult serves as a friend and as a mentor and generally spends 4-8 hours per month with their little buddy. The big and little buddies work on homework, toss a ball, or go to the library. Actually the range of activities is almost limitless, as the big and little buddies mutually decide upon activities to pursue.
If you are interested in enriching the life of a child as a Big Buddy volunteer, or if you know of someone that would benefit having a positive adult role model in their life, please contact the Big Buddy Program.
