Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) -- Beginning November 14th regular benefits will be available for lower income families to help supplement their home heating expenses. The emergency benefits for the HEAP program will start January 3rd.

Persons receiving food stamps and/or public assistance will be assisted by the Delaware County Department of Social Services (607-832-5300). Assistance for people 60 or older is available from the Delaware County Office for the Aging.(607-832-5750) All other income eligible households will be assisted by Delaware Opportunities Inc.

The Weatherization Program is administered by New York Homes and Community Renewal as a means of improving the heating efficiency to produce fuel savings in the homes of low income, elderly and disabled persons. Eligibility for the Weatherization Program is based on the gross income level of the family and is annually established at 60% of the median family income.
