Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation recently announced that Delaware Opportunities has been awarded two grants under the NYS HOME Local Program. The grant awards total $1,050,000.
According to John Eberhard, Executive Director of Delaware Opportunities, $450,000 of the amount will be used to repairs homes whose owners meet low to moderate income guidelines. The type and extent of repairs at each home will be those necessary to correct code violations, address health and safety issues, and otherwise bring the home up to standard housing condition.
$600,000 will be used to replace single family owner occupied mobile or manufactured homes which are in serious need of repair with a new manufactured home. The new homes will be placed on permanent foundations. Those homes in mobile home parks will not be eligible for assistance. The manufactured home replacement program is also limited to those meeting income eligibility guidelines.
